After some frustration, I recently managed to buy and play a Kemco game from the Play Store that satisfied me. Up until this point, I only downloaded Kemco games from the Amazon app store (either buying them or getting them free from Amazon Underground).

It’s worth noting that I originally put the Play Store on my Fire tablet so I could have access to more Kemco games. The Play store has both free and paid versions of various Kemco games to play. As I’ve mentioned before, Kemco games cost pretty cheap compared to other JRPG games.

While the free versions have ads & optional in app purchases, the paid versions have no ads, optional in app purchases, & bonus items that you might receive depending on which game you get. I bought premium because I cannot stand too many ads in an offline game.

Now, here are my favorite Kemco games on Android. Some of these games might also be available on iOS or even consoles, so check Kemco’s website to be sure.

1. Fernz Gate

FernzGate

This is the game I bought from the Play Store. As of right now, it’s my favorite Kemco game ever. Made with the company Exe-Create, this game shows the potential for further growth in future games by them.

The characters are such a breath of fresh air compared to other Kemco games & the storyline has some nice twists too. The graphics are great and the battle system is fun because you can fight in teams, use limit breaks, unison attacks, & use creatures called Buddies to help you fight.

To top it off, I’m currently playing the game a second time after beating it over the weekend & getting the normal ending (there are two). If you can make me want to play a game again after beating it once, then you’re doing fantastic.

2. Knight of The Earthends

knightoftheearthends

Before I played Fernz Gate, this game was my favorite Kemco game. The graphics hearken back to the 16-bit game era and the characters are a nice change from the dearth of male lead JRPGs.

Although the storyline is a bit predictable, the battle system is interesting because you can combine attacks together to make more powerful moves. There is also one character that can learn the attacks of enemies and use them for herself.

This game had a freezing glitch, but that didn’t stop me from playing the game again after beating it the first time. The characters and battle system are fun and even the storyline isn’t too bad if you’ve played Symphony of Eternity first.

3. Asdivine Hearts

AsdivineHearts

Another Kemco-Exe Create title, I personally think that this game is Kemco’s second best game after Fernz Gate. While most of the characters follow certain tropes a bit much, they are still endearing enough to make you invested in the storyline. Felix, the cat/Light Deity, is a particular delight due to his witty lines & gradual character growth.

Besides the characters, the graphics are good and the battle system is great. You use a cube to equip jewels that teach you light, dark, or void magic that grants you different magic abilities. Limit breaks enhance physical & magical attacks based on how much damage you do.

This was the first Kemco game I bought & it was pretty great. Given that this game kicked off a series of Asdivine games & got a sequel, it seems others think so too.

4. Fortuna Magus

FortunaMagus

This game has mostly cliché characters and cliché worldbuilding, but the storyline manages to make up for both. A story of grief, family, and loneliness, the storyline takes several characters and makes you care for them. It also features two different endings, with the best ending being the true ending rather than the normal ending.

Besides the storyline, the battle system isn’t too shabby either. You use mage stones to level up magical abilities & some physical attacks and you can instantly learn new abilities when you level up. Graphics make certain magical attacks look great.

As a Kemco game & a JRPG, this might be the easiest game I’ve ever played. Dungeons are short and bosses are only mildly challenging. This let me appreciate the storyline more, but others might be turned off by the lack of difficulty.

5. Symphony of Eternity

symphonyofeternity

This game is similar to Knight of The Earthends in terms of the graphics and worldbuilding. Symphony of Eternity is loosely set in the same world as Knight of The Earthends & another game called Symphony of The Origin, but occurs during a different time period.

I really wish these three games had a tighter connection to each other, b/c the lore in this game regarding the robot golems made the storyline interesting and made me appreciate Knight of The Earthends more. Another aspect of the game I enjoyed was the battle system.

The battle system uses the speed of the characters’ attack to determine when a character will attack. If you time it right, the characters work together to land more hits that do more damage to an enemy.
