April was good for me as a freelance contributor. I got to write about Japanese anime and manga as well as some American comic books. I also got to celebrate National Poetry Month and novels written in verse, and write some interesting music press releases. The most pleasant surprise was getting to write a review for a brand new gaming website, Loopbreak, which features reviews and other work by Black writers.
During National Poetry Month, I celebrated my progress as a poet and had a new poem published, “Black + Nerd = Blerd”. You can read it over at The Bitchin Kitsch on page 16 of the Spring 2023 issue. I’ve also had other poems published this year, with more to come. To read them and other selected poems, visit my creative writing portfolio.
