Most of my freelance articles that I thought would go up in September ended up going up in October instead. Nonetheless, I’m super proud of these pieces and I’m happy to share them with you all.

Into More

Mediterranea Inferno is full of naked young men and steamy thrills– For Into More, I ended up reviewing the thought-provoking, erotic visual novel game Mediterranea Inferno, which takes place in Italy in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was an Editor’s Pick on the website for a time and it is a thrilling and painful meditation on the impact of global trauma on Italian youth.

Brain Mill Press

“Miles Morales: Suspended” Takes a Powerful Stand against Book Censorship– I reviewed Jason Reynold’s middle grade novel for Marvel Comics’ character Miles Morales. This book was a creative blend of poetry, visual art, and prose that showed a new side to Miles as he endures a day of in-school suspension while facing a new foe.

Black Sci-fi

Top Ten Most Influential Black Speculative Media– October was Black Speculative Fiction Month and I returned to the website Black Sci-fi to write a special feature discussing some of my most influential Black speculative media from movies to cartoons to music.

Eric Alper

CBC 2023 Searchlight Winner Mattmac Teams With Mirame On New Inspiring Single “Find My Love”– This is a music press release that I was proud to do, as it features blind Indigenous music producer and rapper Mattmac and Cree Nation R&B pop singer Mirame.

Comics XF

The Moon Siblings Shine Their Brightest In Silk Issue 5– I had fun reviewing Marvel’s newest Silk series and this issue ends things quite nicely.
