2025 has ended up being a tumultuous year for me for multiple reasons. As a result, I haven’t updated this website as frequently as I intended to. To rectify this, I am going to do one big post featuring the best of the freelance work I’ve done from January 2025 until June 2025.

Into More

There’s A New Holiday For Black Asexuals & I’m Here For It– In February 2025, I learned about SoulAce Day, a new holiday founded by and for Black asexuals. To raise awareness, I wrote an article about its purpose and importance.

Queerly Nerdy– In late May, INTO launched my queer pop culture column Queerly Nerdy to boost LGBTQ+ nerd culture content and creators. Sadly, it would be short-lived due to the layoffs that would occur almost a month later, but I am proud that it was able to come to fruition after freelancing for INTO for three and a half years.

DYKEMINT interview– Intended to be my second entry to Queerly Nerdy, I interviewed Fi Black, the nonbinary lesbian creator behind the sapphic anime-inspired fashion brand DYKEMINT. This would be my final piece for INTO More, but I am proud of how it turned out.

Popverse

As a caregiver, I related to Solo Leveling’s Sung-Jin Woo– After being asked to read volume 1 of the Solo Leveling manhwa, I found an unexpected kinship with its protagonist and felt compelled to write an essay on it. Due to issues behind-the-scenes, this would end up being my final essay for Popverse.

Pop Heist

The Best Magical Girl Mascots– I have loved the magical girl anime subgenre since I was a child and this piece gave me the excuse to write about my favorite mascot characters from various anime and manga.

Heist Guide: Yu-Gi-Oh!– With 25th anniversary celebrations of the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime franchise still underway, I decided to do a guide to a childhood favorite that I ended up appreciating more in adulthood (more on this later).

5 Video Games That Feel Like A Summer Vacation– The carefree days of childhood has made summer feel like the peak time to play video games. Inspired by this, I did a feature on video games that evoke those summer vacation vibes.

Yatta-Tachi

How To Get A Music Fan Into Music Anime– My first article for Yatta-Tachi allowed me to combine my love for listening to music with my passion for watching anime. Music anime is a subgenre that combines different music genres with the medium of anime and the ones discussed in this piece are some of the best.

On Reading Yu-Gi-Oh! While Celebrating My Ideal Self– After reading the entire Yu-Gi-Oh! manga series for the first time as an adult, I felt compelled to write an essay on how it personally resonated with me.

The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn’t A Guy At All Vol. 1– As part of Yatta-Tachi’s Pride Month project, I reviewed volume 1 of the ongoing yuri manga (lesbian manga) series The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn’t A Guy At All aka the green yuri manga.
